Readying Your Wardrobe for Spring

I hope you enjoyed my Readying Your Home For Spring post last week. I have been having fun freshening up my space, opening up the windows, and letting that Spring fresh air inside. Now it's time to talk fashion. In terms of Spring clothing, my goal is to fill my wardrobe with classic staples in lighter fabrics and colours (minus the black circle skirt I bought today!).

Pastel pinks are everywhere right now, and I love the idea of it on a structured blazer--picture this with a crisp white t-shirt and a great pair of boyfriend jeans. A Canadian Spring often means cool evenings and muddy walkways, so instead of jumping into heels and ballet flats, a bootie is the perfect in-between shoe. My sister Haley has been lusting after pearl-back earrings for months now, and I am jumping on her bandwagon. I will have also be adding this fun Stella & Dot arrow ring to my jewellery box! Lace is here to stay, and I love the shape of this slightly cropped top from H&M. Finally, I will be adding a pop of colour with bright pink lips and a gorgeous floral Rifle Paper Co. phone case.

Check out my Spring wardrobes must-haves below, and let me know what you will be adding to your closet this season!

Readying Your Home for Spring

Is there a better feeling than seeing the first signs of Spring after a long Winter? The smell of fresh dirt and the satisfaction of snow banks getting smaller, Spring really is a beautiful time of year. My favourite part of any change of season, is switching out my wardrobe and home decor--the perfect excuse for a fresh start!

Aside from what we know as a staple of the rainy months--Spring cleaning--there are other easy, and economical ways to embrace the new season. Possibly the easiest way to brighten up your indoor space, is by adding fresh flowers and greenery (try a pot in a fun hue!). Freshen up your front door with seasonal plants and a fresh door mat. You can bring in nature's colour palette by adding fun accent pillows, and remember to switch your heavy throws for lighter, cotton versions. Hibernation be gone--get inspired to cook healthy, seasonal meals with attractive recipe cards, and be ready for casual, al-fresco dining with inexpensive paper napkins and a versatile cutlery holder. And of course, never under estimate the power of a new candle scent to transform your home.

Have a look at my Spring home decor must-haves, and let me know how you will be brightening up your space!
